About The Event
The excursion program includes a morning departure from Rome to reach the medieval village of Farfa, known mainly for its Abbey. This Benedictine abbey is one of the oldest monasteries in Italy, dating back to the 6th century. We will visit the church, the cloister, and other parts of the abbey such as the museum which houses a collection of manuscripts, ancient books, liturgical objects, and historical artifacts. Then we will walk through the streets of the historic center which will allow us to immerse ourselves in the medieval atmosphere of the place. We will have lunch inside an authentic convent of Brigidine nuns.
